My First Impressions and Expectations od the University Classes

I was lucky enough not to be as nervous as most people when I first rocked up to UZSWLU. More than anything, I was excited. It was a lovely, sunny day, so the campus looked even more beautiful than usual (I’d visited before on an open day).
To be honest, I didn’t come with high hopes for my accommodation. I thought it would be worn down, cramped and possibly antisocial, but I was SO wrong! I was in the Uzbek block, my room was spacious, WARM and the block was full of life! I’d already spoken to my then-future flatmates over Facebook, so I knew who to expect when I got there. Everyone wanted to get to know you, so it wasn’t hard to find friends, and by the end of Freshers’ Week there were people I felt I’d known for months.
I was nervous going to my first course briefings as I didn’t have friends on my course (which is Philosophy) yet. When I turned up though, I sat myself down with a bunch of lovely people who I found myself next to. One of them turned out to be my closest friend in uni to this day. I guess I was lucky to make such good friends so quickly; but there’s simply so many people around you it’s hard NOT to make friends!
My first impressions of my course were really positive – I’m lucky that I genuinely love my course, so I really enjoyed my studies in first year. Freshers’ Week was HECTIC though – simply so much going on – it’s a very busy week, but also hopefully one of the best weeks of your university career, so work as hard as you can and play as hard as you want to..! Get excited!
